I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's extremely doubtful that you have "a" mouse! More likely you have a family of little mickeys & minnies.

You can get a humane trap from the hardware store which is best baited with a cracker that is spread with peanut butter. Take each mouse you catch a LONG way from your house and let them out, or they'll just come back! If you use a spring trap that kills the first mouse, the others will smell it and embed themselves deeper into your home, and may not venture out again until there are ten times as many!

Peanut butter or cheese use a good trap like a vctor ( not the stuff at the dollar store. Sticky traps work well but then you have to kill the mouse yourself... be warned its quite posible you have more than 1 or more will follow...make sure you have nothing around that wil attract them ie garbage or a neighbour that has them...( which is a hard problem to deal with ) it also got in to your house you could have a family of mice... just keep on the look out for droppings especially around stove.. fridge etc. ...if it is a rat whole different problem. Poison is best but hope you don't have a rat.. much bigger and they are alot smarter look for bigger droppings ( obviously with kids & pets you have to be super careful with poison or traps )

peanut butter works the best if you have a snap trap. but the square blocks work better they love the taste of the stuff and it kills em quick the only problem is if they die in a wall it might stick for a week or two

CHEESE ON THE TRAP THEN A SMALL SMEAR OF PEANUT BUTTER ON THE EDGE OF THE TRAP, BECAUSE ONCE IT THINKS IT CAN GET TO THE PEANUT BUTTER, THEN IT WILL GO FOR THE CHEESE AND GET CAUGHT IN THE TRAP.
