sounds more like a power issue. Try a different power supply if possible. You should be able to take it to your local Staples/Best Buy/electronics store (or even a computer repair itself if they accept laptops) and try one of their Power Supplies. Targus makes a great laptop Power Supply that has changeable ends that will fit most any laptop. I know that Staples will open the product to let you try it if you tell them you're not sure it will fit/fix the problem and you just want to check it. (I used to work their and we did all the time) If the power supply doesn't fix the issue, then it would be something hardware in your laptop (could be the power supply connection point broken, could be burnt out CPU, could be burnt board, etc) hard to tell without me cracking it open for a look. But I'ld say most likely its a power issue. If your battery is full then it should start without the supply...however if your powersupply is bad then you might not have known it was and while you thought it was charging your battery it wasn't and while you thought you were running on the power supply you were actually draining the battery. I'ld try it first. Best of luck to you...they can be difficult to fix but they aren't impossible. Feel free to email me at cpt_rose@yahoo.com if you need more info/help.

See the solutions to the one a couple of questions before yours, something like Why does my laptop freeze up?

If you are over heating, which happens when the hot processor is asked to do more work and heat up more, yours protects itself by just shutting down instead of freezing.

Clean the heat sink radiator and cooling fan.

Good luck

Yes I would think that the motherboard could be a problem. You may need to have it sent back to the manufacturer. They should diagnose & replace it for free, if you are still under warranty.

It can be a number of things. The battery could be faulty, have you tried just plugging in the A/C adapter? The mainboard could be faulty as well. The A/C adapter could be faulty.

you drained your laptop's batery and your ac. adaptor don't provided enough dc power for booting up.
