I'm curious coz I like the brand. Then I've read this thing in wikipedia about Guess rising to popularity in 1980s, then their popularity waned in 1990s and they got bad publicity and a case in court about employees being underpaid or something like that.
So, do a lot of people still buy Guess in the U.S.A.? And how is it doing with regards to competition in the States?

Their stores are still in most major malls, but they've become ridiculously overpriced and they're in competition with stores like Lucky Brand, the Levis Company Store and Diesel. I'm not crazy about the way their button down shirts fit (they call it an athletic cut, but it's hideous). And everything is overdone to the point of being gaudy! With labels like 7 for All Mankind, Diesel, Citizens of Humanity and True Religion leading the way as far as denim wear, Guess seems to be falling to the bottom of the list. For the most part, most guys that I know just pass the Guess boutiques over and spend a bit more on better fitting jeans & shirts at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's.

where i am from ( Maryland) i really don't see guess anymore. when i was growing up and i was in the ninth and tenth grade, guess was extremely high in price, and everyone wanted to wear a guess jumper, jeans, shorts, and tees. now a days, i rarely see i worn at all. i know there is a guess outlet near ocean city Maryland, close to where i am, but other than that..... no. i don't find it to be popular where i am now a days. though... the eighty's and ninety's are really becoming popular again and it would not surprise me in the least if it came back.

(just to mention one of the above the top Mag's)and you'll see their beautiful ads ,guess its an upscale symbol trade mark

umm... Newport, Marlboro, Camel. There are lower priced ones like GPC and u . s . Gold although the first 3 are the perfect. in case you want known and menthol try the Camel overwhelm. in case you squeze the butt this is going to become Menthol.

I bought some guess gear just this last weekend, their alright, some of their stuff lately has been better, than in recent past.
