I've had jobs before, but I finally have an interview as a preschool teacher! Something I've been working my butt off for this past year.

What are some good tips to remember on an interview? questions to ask, things to bring, and especially-- what NOT to say

thanks! wish me luck!

I would strongly suggest you hunt up some stuff on the net, there are sight devoted just to how to ace the interview. There is all the obvious stuff of course. But my favorite tip was to be sure to have a couple of intelligent questions to ask at the end when they always say "any thing you'd like to ask". It looks very good for you to be prepared for that and you come across as interested. Best of luck, you'll knock them dead.

Take a shower but don't bathe in cologne or perfume. As a matter of fact, DON'T wear any. Dress professionally and be on time. Try to get there at least 10 minutes early. Bring copies of your resume and transcripts. Also something to write on/with to take notes. If you have a chance, do some research about the school.

GIve a firm handshake and don't slouch when you sit down. Look at the interviewer in the eyes and smile. Take a moment or two to think of your answers before you give them. If you're asked what you think your worst quality is, be honest but put it in a positive light.

You can ask about classroom size and expectations, but DON'T ask about salary or benefits until they offer you the job, otherwise you look greedy. Hope this helps. Oh, and be sincere!

you have to wear your best outfit for the interview. this will give you confidence and the comfort. relax and be loosed. this will give you an easy time answering their questions.

and try to research if they do have a website. most of the cases, they do ask about what's your impression of their school or company. try to practice as well the possible questions you think they would ask you.

good luck. hope you could get the job you've been waiting for.

Eye contact, smile, don't freak if it takes you a moment to think of the answer. Think of the good things about yourself so you can answer questions like "Why should we hire you?" I used to ask that one every time I interviewed someone! I liked the people who could think of good things to say! Like "I'm puntual, I'm hard-working, I get along well w/ others, I learn quickly, I need little supervision, I follow directions well." whatever your strengths are!
And good luck. Try not to be nervous...they are just people!
