My baby is 3 months old. What is the maximum no. of hours i could let him sleep without feeding (given he was fed right before he slept).

At three months old my baby was sleeping about 8-10 hrs at night. You don't need to wake up your baby at night time to feed, but during the day you could, so he will sleep more at ngiht.
My doctor said that by 6 months old, all babies do not nutritionally need night feeds. (although some like the comfort).

The best advice I was given I will gladly pass onto you. A book practically sent from the sleeping gods...! The New Contented Little Baby Book by Gina Ford. Basically it gives you a complete routine of when to feed, when and how long to let them sleep etc. It was FANTASTIC. My little boy (who is now 2) started on this routine when we got home from the hospital. At 1 week old He slept through the night from his last feed at 10:30pm until 7:00am the next day. He soon grew out of this late feed at night and slept through from 7:00pm until 7:00am at the age of 4 months when he started on some solids. To this day, 7:00pm is when the house is quiet and a bit of grown up time begins - we don't hear a peep from him until 7:00-8:30am the following morning.
I can't stress the wonderfullness of this book enough - apart from the routines that change as your little one gets older, there are heaps of advice Q&A sections about different concerns etc and experiences of other mothers and their children.
GET IT BEFORE YOU GO CRAZY :o)

When I was in the hospital after the birth of my first child the nurses told me I had to feed her every 2 hours. I did this for the first 2 weeks. I woke her up (if she was sleeping) every 2 hours. I was exhausted. Then at her 2 week check up the pediatrician said "Let her sleep, she'll wake up (or let you know) when she's hungry". I almost cried with relief! My daughter is now over 2 years old and very healthy. Let her/him sleep, and get some sleep yourself!

It's really up to the baby. Mine started to sleep through the night (6 hours) at about that age and they were breastfed. Other kids can wake around the clock until they're close to a year old.

My baby slept for about 6 hours straight at night when he was 3 months old between feeding. We were sleeping too so when he woke up we woke up. My son didn't like getting woken up before he was ready. It helped that he had his own room next to us so every noise he made didn't wake me up and then me wake him up. But we could hear when he was really awake and hungry.

I let my baby sleep through the night w/o feedings, and she can go nine hours sometimes. My doctor thinks this is fine as well. She isnt waking up because shes not as hungry as she is tired and that is fine with me. p.s. she is three months old.

Unless you have a premie I wouldn't wake a baby up to feed. They know when they are hungry and they will cry and let you know that. The only babies that need to be woken up to feed are preemies I believe.

At 10 weeks, my daughter started sleeping through the night. from 7pm-5:45am. Been the same way eversince
