I am thinking of changing careers and feel that going to school to be an RN is not an option for me right now. I'm thinking this may be a good way to get started and see if it's something I would even want to do for a living. Lately, I feel the need to make what I do to make money more meaningful...just can't go broke doing it!

I was a Certified Nursing Assistant, and it all depends on where you live. In California the starting pay is 7.00 to 8.00-9.00 to 11.00 dollars an hour, and the highest amount a nurse aid can get is 16.75 and that is if and only if she has the right amount of experience and if it is a good facility such as a high end hospital or nursing home. But rememeber, as a nurse aid, you will be dealing with ALL the dirty work, your going to be the one who has to bathe the patients, take care of their bathroom situations, feed them, put them to bed, being a nurse aid is more hands on than an RN, as an RN you deal with more paper work and providing meds for patients, but your not doing the dirty work AND you get paid sooooooooooo much more. Good Luck on whatever you do!
