Be sure and take biochemistry and chemistry -- THey will help a lot when you take bio-chem in med school.

If you are on your first semester of Freshman year, then you have plenty of time to pull up your grades (Given that your grades are low due to too much party and lazing rather than not understanding the material.)

If you are having a lot of trouble and its your first semester -- Be sure and try to see your advisor talk about your goals for medical school and see about mapping out your courses with that in mind.

Some schools have a premed program that will help guarantee you a slot in their med program. Virginia used to be one who offered this.

Part of your admissions is based on how well you do on the MCAT -- Get a book and start studying now (No kidding.)

Another critical part of your application process will be how well you express yourself on the written part of the application - you usually will have to write an essay about why you want to practice medicine. DO NOT write "I want to make a lot of money" -- it doesn't matter if it's what you really want - The admissions committee will want something a bit more personable and less mercenary.

Be prepared to go to a lot of interviews.

There are some good reference books in the library and store on how to get into Med school. Look over a couple.
