No. As it has already been stated you cannot improve on the classics. How many more good films of the past have to be rubbished by an inferior remake or needless sequel?

If the film industry has no new ideas then they should shut up shop for a while and try to think of some.

No. It would just be stupid like The Wiz. You can't improve on a classic.
