I think you gotta sign up for Verizon but MetroPCS has a Nokia that looks like a Chocolate and has same features (with some better ones)

On a phone designed for downloading music and video prepaid could get expensive.

Probably not Verizon uses CDMA which is why is use Cingular who uses GSM. I can just buy any cingular or t-mobile phone and switch out the sim chip under the battery and poof new phone. Nokia makes hybrids which will work with any cell phone company GSM or CDMA starting at around 700$ and yes they do everything a notebook computer will do almost.

But back to the point you maybe able to get a Verizon store to switch it around (way unlikely) just remember the sales reps usually get paid by contracts and since prepaid doesn't have a contract you pay more for your minutes and the sales reps get paid less on their commissions.

Unfortunately verizon doesnt have any prepaid plans and I dont think they will be offering any soon. As you can see Verizon phones doesnt have any place to put your sim card in. So better sign up for a plan with verizon :)
