Hawaiian Honeymoon question.?

Question

I will be getting married in September of '07 and have been put in charge of the honeymoon. I think I want to go to Hawaii. What is your opinion on the best island to visit for a honeymoon? We're not party-people and not heavy drinkers but we like to have fun. We just want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing locale with a beach. If you could, let me know what island city and where you stayed. Also, if you have an idea that's not in Hawaii that meets that criteria, let me know. (Fiji is out, way too expensive) Thanks for helping out.

PS I have been to Oahu twice and she has never been to Hawaii period. We'd like to go somewhere neither of us have been.

To answer your question, Kauai is ideal. It's the most pristine, "untouched" of all the Hawaiian islands. It's not as touristy as the other islands, but still offers some very fine dining and venues for relaxation. My husband and I stayed in a condo on the Poi Pu side. The condo was great because it allowed us to make meals when we wanted and saved us a bundle of money. Plus, it just felt more like home rather than a stiff hotel environment.

Snorkeling is a fun adventure that you can explore together on any side. There's plenty of shoreline around the island, and the circumference of Kauai is small enough that you can travel all the way around it at a leisurely pace in just a couple hours. I loved rolling down the windows, cranking up the Hawaiian tunes by locals, and just cruising around. Another fun thing to do is go on a helicopter tour. I don't remember what the cost was, but it was apparently low enough that we were able to afford it. lol And for maximum relaxation, you can always book his and hers massages or spa treatments.

The thing that most impressed me about Kauai is that it was so quiet and laid-back, and the scenery was just spectacular. This island gets more annual rain than any of the others, so it's the most intense, lush green everywhere you look.

I've been to Oahu (Waikiki Beach) twice. But this is a far more populated island than Kauai. It has a TON of fancy shmancy high-end shops close to the shoreline. The nightlife is hopping.

To be honest, I MUCH prefer Kauai to Oahu. The quiet, lazy, slower pace is totally our style. We had a very restful, relaxing vacation there. That's precisely what you want and need after all the stress of planning and executing the wedding. I would highly recommend it!

If you're not on a budget, I would suggest the Ko'olina Resort & Spa, which is located in Kapolei, Hawaii (Oahu). Its away from the busy streets of Waikiki, however, I would also suggest taking a sunset dinner cruise here.

If you need a more secluded area, the Sheraton Maui Resort is a nice place to spend a honeymoon. Be sure to look them up on the internet first.

And don't forget to ask for the honeymooner's special! Its only for a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates, but at least something is free.

Here's a website to check out all the resorts for each Hawaiian island, but I must warn you, do not book any reservations with them. They have a very high percentage of mistakes! After all, they'll hire anyone who'll work for min.wage! and I mean ANYONE.....but its up to you.

Your choice of Hawaii is excellent! I am recently married and we chose Norwegian Cruise- The Pride of Hawaii. We flew into Honolulu and boarded by way of limobus. We saw 4 islands with about a day or dayandahalf each and it was wonderful! And given what you want, this cruise would be perfect in Septmber. All your food is paid for(except the fine restaurants which is typically $10 p/p for excellent food-Le Bistro and Cagney's Steak House were our 2 favs), room and board(we upgraded to the owner's suite which is perfect for honeymoon)is paid for,entertainment,excursions,chill out on 4 or 5 different beaches(none of which you can go wrong). All the people are friendly, and on and on...Dude, this is the way to do a honeymoon! And a great way to start married life. We came back to Waikiki for 2 more nights, rented a Mustang,saw P'Harbor then drove around the island, which was fabulous. You cant go wrong anywhere there; there's so much to do. I personally recomend the Kona by land and sea excursion on the big island

I live in Hawai`i (on Oahu), and my first sugestion is always to come to Oahu before you go to a different island.

All the activities are here, and it's less expensive than Maui. Kauai would be the next choice.

There are hotels here that are romantic, and are NOT right in Waikiki. Check out the JW Marriott at Ko`olina, and the Kahala (formerly the Kahala Mandarin).

properly first i could say the brother is being extremely selfish as that's her honeymoon. What could he have finished in that place? even with the undeniable fact that, for me individually, if it replaced into that significant to my brother and he replaced into doing any such huge prefer, i'm enormously confident i will have discovered a least a small volume of time to flow to with him and thank him for what he did. interior the top they the two could understood one yet another a sprint extra beneficial, yet i could definetly say he replaced into interior the incorrect for reversing the expenses esp when you consider that they have been reserved at a undeniable fee. well I didn't go to Hawaii for my honeymoon but I would have loved to go if we could have afforded it. We stayed at a resort in our area and went horse back riding and swimed in the hot springs. But Hawaii sounds great to me! Has she already been there or is it her first time?

I would have to say Cancun because the water is warm and the beaches are good. I stayed at the Moon Palace
