Think of how religiously-based the world was in the Victorian Era. The Church was wayyy up there in social ranking. Darwin was presenting an idea that much of the world refused to even consider as it contradicted their faith. People who hadn't even read about his theory knew it as a crazy idea about monkeys turning into men.
Up until Darwin's venture into the theory of evolution, few people had even questioned creation as their origin. Following the publication of his theory, he was satirized and mocked immensely.

Darwin theory was simple. If you get a trillion of pocket calculators and start gently smashing them with the hammer one of those calculators will turn into iPad. Then this iPad will become more useful and more popular than pocket calculators and pocket calculators will die out as species while iPad will survive and thrive on the shelves of the stores. But if you have any knowledge of how well thought out, complex and interconnected the solid design of the iPad or any computer is, you would see that you can not make iPad out of pocket calculators this way. Most single changes in one place will require the simultaneous precise matching changes in 5 other places or whole thing will not work at all. Such transformation, even though they both use silicone chips, can only be done by intelligent engineers-designers. And if you would understand that our DNA program and the whole design of each species is even more complex and even more interconnected than any modern computer, you would see that what does not work for iPad evolution is even less likely to work for the evolution of the species. Darwin was mistaken, to put it mildly.

Darwin came back to his hometowna nd married a woman. later he got a disease and couldn't get out of the house for 20 years. During his 20 years, This other guy also believed that he knows the cause of evolution and was planning to write a book about his discovery. Darwin heard the news and started writing his book so he can get it published before the other guy did even thpugh he was sick. he finished the book and got it published before the guy even started his book. Darwin got his fame and people learned about eveolution. People are still learning now. They still go to the Galapagos island even though people live on it now.
He died while leaning on his wifw and talking to her in thier bedroom.

Darwin faced an incredible amount of scorn and derision from all corners of society : newspapers, academics, clergyman etc. However, his ideas prevailed because they were based on sound scientific reasoning. It's incredible to think that, even today in the 21st century, there are still people who are trying to discredit Darwin and his theory. Almost all of this is based on stupidity, dogmatism and ignorance.

I think it must have been teaching idiots what the word "theory" means in a scientific context. A lot of them still haven't gotten it. Apparantly many of them never heard of the "Theory" of Gravity. Or maybe they figure we made up all the evidence for that too?
CREATIONISTS, GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEADS: A scientific theory DOES have a lot of evidence supporting it. What you call a theory, we call a hypothesis. I'll grant that it's stupid, but it's true. Look it up if you don't believe me.
(Right...like you would ever consider testing your beliefs with evidence...)

Well...let's see. Back in his day NO ONE questioned the church. All of a sudden a Christian, on a voyage to prove God's existance, contradict the church teachings by discovering evolution.

Obviously getting people to understand it is a THEORY with no factual basis. The way it is taught in schools today you would think it was some sort of scientifically proved fact. It is not.
