because of unfulfilled unrealistic expectations and the inevitable 'let down' afterwards. Plus you always think everyone else is having a much better time than you are and what's wrong with you because you aren't having this great time that everyone else is. Also, for me, it always brings up all the terrible holidays I suffered through as a kid.

Sometimes they're sad because we remember the ones that have died & wish they could be here for just 1 more. Or if last year someone was married & this year isn't. There are so many reasons but I hoped this helped

I don't think they are sad at all. I see people shopping, driving to and from work, decorating their homes, going to parties, and mailing Christmas cards. Unless some recent disaster has struck your family, you should NOT be sad. You are alive, make the most of it.

i usually get sad around the the holidays because of my father && all the things he's done to me. how he's ruined me. your probably sad because of family or friend issues.

People are always busy, and they dont get alot of time with others. People also get into alot of debt sometimes cause of all the spending.
