Domino game… Am I odd or even?
The teacher separated the class into groups of fives. Each group was given a case of dominos. The teacher instructed each group that they had to find 3 dominos that had only even numbers on each side, 4 dominos that had only odd numbers and 3 dominoes that had both an odd and even number.

You would be teaching seveal things: visual recognition, reasoning, hand-eye coordination and maybe more. A simple exercise but meaningful.

This exercise sounds like a cooperative learning assignment. In cooperative learning groups, children learn how to work together to accomplish a task in a set amount of time.

It also teaches the concept of grouping or categorizing. If she was to take a venn diagram, she could make one circle that had odd numbers, one that had even, and the overlapping part have odd and even. The students could put their dominos into those categories.

It also teaches how to follow directions, and listening skills, which are very important concepts to learn.
