Dude. I study monkeys. In India, they are totally pests. They're freaking everywhere, and they're way worse than mice as far as conflicts with humans go. Like, at least mice don't come up to you, slap the food out of your hands, hoot at you, and run off with your grub.
Then again, they're sacred there, so there's not a lot that can be done.
Look up "monkey menace" on google.

But, yeah: not mice. And since vermin is a semi-official designation, they're not vermin, either.

if you believe in evolution- yes. Actually large shrews would be more precise. There were ground shrews (when the dinosaurs were around) that turned into ground mammals. Some went into the trees and became monkeys and then humans. That is the current theory on mammal evolution, or so I have been taught.

It a nasty place to set a mouse trap and how do you swing on a banana tree? So my answer is 'no'.
In fact I believe they are the true and most honourable academics, banished by ancient Neanderthals for NOT charging fees to that pretentious Tree of knowledge otherwise known as Universities.

I really dont know whether that is entirely true, however it must be noted that by no means whatsoever, we were monkeys at any point in the stages the infamous "evolution theory" by a certain individual....

I must also stress that every theory has a flaw to it and can never be proven as written! So do not listen to this man....thank you very much.....chinquhi
