Well, yeah. *Some* liberals do and *some* conservatives do, but I like the contrast. I think you're on to something.

Some maybe but your statement is really an opinion. Since not all liberals hide lies in jokes and comedy and not all conservatives hide them in passionate rhetoric and diluted statistics. So I would have to say I don't agree.

I don't know what you mean by an agreeable statement, but if you mean a true statement I would say that liberals hide lies in jokes, comedy, passionate rhetoric, and diluted statistics; and conservatives hide them in passionate rhetoric, diluted statistics, jokes, and comedy.

Jokes and comedy only work to the degree that they mirror reality and reflect some truth. Passion, in everything, is not rooted in the empirical, reality-based, world; and distorting (more than diluting but less than delusion) statistics is, by definition, dishonest.

So, yes, and disregarding my petty distort/dilute/delude definition issue, I agree that the truth must be mined.

Politicians are motivated only by 1). Individual wealth and power, and 2). Party power and wealth.

America and Americans are inconsequential and irrelevant to their short-sighted goals. America is the game board and it citizens are game pieces. Cheating is no only permitted, it is required; and excellence in cheating is greatly admired by both sides.

Tofu should put a pox on both their houses.

That would assume that everyone (polititian) is a liar! You shouldn't make that large an assumption. Not every joke or passionate rhetoric is a lie.

I could get with that Tofu. I have always told people that comedians are the only people that tell the truth about politics. People laugh and then go home and do nothing about it.
Peace bro

No, liberals don't have to hide their lies because it is only wrong to lie if you are a conservative. Its called a double standard. Don't you pay attention?

That would be a generalization, and not a very good one. I think most Americans are fed up with our governments deceptions, regardless of the party.
