I don't mind running, lifting, or dieting. But I am about a case of beer a week drinker and I really don't want to change that . Anyone have any programs that I could start in 2007?

Here it goes: cut out all your sugars and fast food. As far as sugar goes, no more soft drinks. Just diet or straight water. I would suggest nothing but water, or flavored water. Then, cut out all the McDonald's and Taco Bell and all that stuff, and replace it with grilled foods, like grilled chicken, instead of fried, for instance. Or turkey sandwiches. Turkey is one of the leanest meats. And, lastly, add in about 30 minutes to an hour of cardio about 3 or 4 times a week. Depending on your age, your target pulse rate for fat burning starts out @ 140 for 20's, then 125-130 for 30's to 40's, and after that, about 115-125 for 50 and up. Try this, and you should be ok. And, one more thing, doing cardio first thing in the morning before breakfast helps you burn 3 times more calories throughout the day. Hope all this helped you out.

You'll need to commit to a total lifestyle change. It's not going to work if you go on a "diet" that you expect to come off of when you lose the weight you want. You'll just put it back on. Adding regular or additional exercise would be a big help. How about reducing the amount of beer instead of eliminating it. Monitor the amount of fat you eat in a week. Be honest. Then set a target of fat reduction that you can live with (for the rest of your life). It's not as rewarding to start a very slow weight loss program, but it's more likely you'll keep the weight off in the long run if you go that route. Good luck.

Start and stay with a good cardio workout. Do at least 20 minutes of continuous work (running, step aerobics, etc.) 3 - 5 times a week. Also, keep a tab on how many calories are in those beers. Make sure you combine them with the other foods and drinks you consume everyday. Watch those calories and stay active and you will be looking great sooner than 6 months! : ) Good Luck
