Call your doctor. You don't want to let preterm labor progress, if that's what it is. Preterm labor usually can be stopped - BUT the sooner treatment is begun, the higher the likelihood that it will be successful.
PLEASE, when you have health questions - call your doctor. You don't know the background of people answering your question - even if they say they are a nurse, doctor, whatever --- PEOPLE LIE!

At 22 weeks your round tendons will kick in, they hurt and pull and pinch and are a searing hot pain that can double you over for a couple seconds, make it hard to stand, and even take your breath away when you do stand.

Thats the extreme end of that pain, its normal to have anything like that.

Contractions feel like a muscle cramp in across your whole stomach. They make you feel like you want to bear down, like pooping almost. They can be just a tightness across all your belly, or even a painful ache and sharp pain. Real labor contractions tend to start in your lower back, and crawl across your stomach and make it hard to breathe, and they make it hard to walk, or stand, or talk.

You will have contractions clear through your pregnancy, these are called braxon hicks, and they are totally normal, they prepare the body and baby for labor.

However, you should not have more than six an hour. If you have a few close together, lay down for half an hour and drink some water. They should stop, if not, then you know you need to call your doctor and head for the hospital.

Its quite possible that you simply have a stomach bug. Watch for fever. You can take 650ml of tylenol to reduce it if you do get one, but make sure your doctor knows you have fever and feel sick, so they can monitor you for the flu, or other viruses, which can be dangerous durring pregnancy.

Generally contractions dont make you feel nausious. The transition part of labor will make you throw up, but normal contractions by and far do not.

you sound perfectly fine :)

This actually sounds normal to me. I am 20wks pregnant and have just visited my doctor due to VERY painful pains and it turned out to be a urine infection (aparently very common around the 5th mth) I was worried sick for over a week before i went to see my doctor and thankfully i did! Honestly if you are this worried just ring and make an appointment to see your doc/midwife. Having the flu will also make things feel alot worse than normal. If you feel sick then throwup (it always made me feel better)
I understand exactly where you're coming from (should i be worried? Should i not?) The best advice you can get is from your doc/midwife even if you just ring to chat over the phone and they will tell you whether you need a checkup or not...
Good luck hun and congrats!

three things!
one... if the pain is in your lower back, below your ribs.. it could be your kidneys.. Pregnant women are very prone to bladder/kidney infections.. which cause very serious pains that can feel like labor. In which case.. your doc would put you on antibiotics and pain pills, and you are all set!
second thing could be Braxton Hicks contractions, which are like.. practice contractions for your uterus. It feels like a bad period cramp. They are random.. real labor cramps would be steady, every 5 minutes, lasting between 30 and 90 seconds in duration. They are extremely painfull, although some women handle them better than others..
Third.. your bones/muscles could be stretching and moving to accomidate baby, which can hurt.. ALOT!!! If you are really worried, call your doc right away, and if you experience any bleeding/spotting.. call right away as well.

If the pains go on for more than an hour then you need to contact your doctor (OB). You never can tell so it's better to be safe than sorry.
