Almost all of PS1 games will play on the PS2. This is called backwards compatible. I believe playstation started this trend, and now almost all the new systems are doing it. Even the new Blue Ray and HD DVD players will play the soon-to-be outdated DVDs.

PS2s will play most but NOT all PS1 games. If you have any question about a specific PS1 game, the folks at Gamestop have always been able to answer my questions.
