territory to an animal is like your house is to you a place to be safe and food so if another animal comes in it and takes food from one it might not make it through the year

The territory has to sustain a suitable number of prey to feed the owl and others who feed on the same supply. Therefore it must have sufficient food and water for the prey, and be large enough to have a sufficient number of prey.

Think you're right, the barn owl rules. The adder is the only poisonous snake but a barn owl would sort that out.
