Yes; they are only 4 points back with over half the season left. They were playing awesome hockey before they lost Havlat, Nikolai Khabibulin, and Michal Handzus to injury. Both Havlat and Handzus were providing over a point a game and Khabibulin was playing well in goal this year. Havlat's return along with Ruutu's return and the signing of Bondra will help the Hawks score goals. Goal scoring has been the problem as the defense is solid and goaltending has been good when Khabibulin is healthy.

I do not believe the Blackhawks will make the playoffs. That being said, I'd LOVE to see them make it. The NHL needs a strong team in Chicago. The NHL needs an energized fan base there.

As for the playoffs, I believe the Western Conference is too strong for the Hawks to make it. As shown with Havlat's injury, the Hawks lack sufficient depth to make a playoff run. I do like the addition of Peter Bondra - he should provide an additional scoring threat. Please Blackhawks prove me wrong.

well they only 4 points out of 8th place and yes they can make it, but only if Khabibulin and Havlat can stay healthy long enough to get a few winning streaks. the season is still a long ways to go and this two are key players for the Blackhawks and the team really needs this two to stay healthy long enough to do damage in the standings.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

there's more than 1/2 the season left. and their only 4 points out of the 8th spot in the west, also since savard has taken over behind the bench they have gotten points in every game but one....its still too early to tell but khabibulin has been solid and the bondra signing can only help...

I think they will make the playoffs now that Havlot is back. They seem to be doing better now that Savard is the head coach. Thank goodness Trent Yawney is gone!! Go Hawks!!
