Hi. Don't worry about the needle or blood test. It is actually very simple and most phlebotomists that draw blood are very skilled. Also, your veins do not have nerve endings so it will not hurt. You will only feel a very light pinch as it goes through the skin into the vein and even at that...many phlebotomists are so good that you won't even feel that. Quite honestly, the tourniquet on your arm will be more uncomfortable than the actual poke. (I'm a med tech and have drawn blood for years. I can't tell you how many of my patients tell me how they don't feel a thing!) You'll do fine. Also....another fyi....a fingerstick hurts far worse than a blood test....cuz they have to keep squeezing it over and again to get the blood out....trust me ...the blood draw will be fine. Please be sure to write of your experience AND of your results. My best to you.

Yes you can but if you test too soon they will get a borderline result and you have to go back in 2-3 days for another. Also they take the blood out of your arm. The blood test does work sooner than most HPT though. Good luck

A blood test will show if you are pregnant or nt 7 days following conception.
They will draw blood out of your arm. If you are pregnant you better be getting use to getting stuck with needles cause they are always taking your blood for some reason and when you go to have your baby you will be on an IV and getting pain shots, epidural.

Good luck

They should take it from your arm. Since it's important enough to know, just think about that instead of the needle.

Some advice - drink lots of water. LOTS OF WATER. A few hours before the test. A gallon if you have to. It'll plump up your veins and they'll be able to get your blood extra quick!

They take the blood sample from your arm..like behind your elbow..it doesn't really hurt. It just pinches kinda. And my advice is to look the other way and just talk to the nurse to keep your mind off of it. This is my second pregnancy and you have to get alot of blood work done throughout..:(

they can tell almost right away with a blood test.. i was neg on urine but positive on blood tests, they think i was only 4 days pregnant. They will usually take it from your arm.. its not that bad! Just dont think about it... They need more than just a pric, so they cant take it from your finger.
