yes, it's much more comfortable!! you can also use the pillow to lay the baby on it's stomach/back or whatever also. It does a good job for tummy time for baby!

Yes, but only if you get the jumbo ones that they sell in the hospitals. The commercial ones that they sell at Toys R Us and other baby stores, don't offer enough support.

My breastfeeding pillow really helped me - when I tried using regular pillows, I found that I spent half the time shifting the pillows into the right position. Especially as your baby gets older and starts moving around and getting distracted during feedings - their U shape really helps alleviate the strain on your back.

I am due in two weeks so I don't know for sure, but every mom that has used them say they are so wonderful. I got about three Boppys at my shower (of course two were returned for soemthing else needed LOL!!). Mom's say the Boppy is good because it works for breastfeeding, and is helpful for regular bottle feeding too so dad can get in on the action. And they have said that their babies seem very comfy just using it as a cushion to sit up on the bed or the floor with.

It might take trial and error to find what works for you. The Boppy didn't work well for me (although later my baby loved to be propped up on it during "floor-time"). What finally worked for me was this kind of stiff pillow thing that was flat on one side and had an indentation on the other to comfortable fit it against my body. It was thicker and didn't slip as much as the boppy, and since it was firmer it took off a lot of the strain from my arm and shoulder.

I just used a big thick pillow, it worked great for me. I had a boppy pillow in the beginning, but didn't like it .

Yes, no matter how hard you try you just can't get a regular pillow to bend the right way to give you all the support you need. Don't ever make your muscles strain especially right after delivery. (you'll get off to a rocky start) or as your baby gets bigger (heavier.)

I believe it is just a gimmick, something else to sell. I never used one so I honestly cannot say they are better...a pillow is a pillow. It is not like you are resting on it...the baby is, so how can anyone actually say "yes" with all honesty? lol. I believe as long as you are comfortable and not straining and baby is doing well at the breast that a regular pillow folded in half is just plenty fine for all :) PS. Congrats on baby and on nursing. Glad to hear. Wish my daughter would have nursed my grandbabies but she didn't :(

I loved my breast feeding pillow. It was the best. I had 2 c-sections and didn't want to do much strenuous activity so I just propped my little ones up and no fooling around they latched right on. Best invention ever.

boppy's? Oh God yes. Theyre way more useful than regular pillows, not just for breast feeding, but for any feeding, learning to sit and tummy time. Plus theyre really comfy for your neck when the baby isnt using them :)

Oh my gosh, yes! I love my boppy! It is probably the most useful thing I got at my shower. My baby is 7 months old and is now bottle feeding and we still use it constantly. It goes with us wherever we go, including restaurants and church.

Good luck!
