I had that problem myself once, what really helped was:

- having friends that understood my need to grief (i.e. not push me)

- doing lots of activities with new people to get him off my mind

- and it might sound silly, but I actually performed my own kind of ritual to say goodbye: wrote a lot of letters that were never sent-read by anyone else, did drawings, listened to music that reminded me of him, then on a fixed date in the calendar, decided for myself that it was time to move on.

- another thing that helped me was discussing with my friends why I wasn't with that guy anymore (there is a reason why it doesn't work out!) I made a list of things I didn't like about him and made a list of things I'd like for a new relationship. That put it all in focus and not long after that I was already starting to think about another guy.

- if she can afford it, she could buy new clothes or new accessories to make her feel beautiful and "in the game" again..when she is ready of course.

She may never get over him. I think it depends on how much in love she was...just listen to her and be patient. She needs someone to talk too...other wise she will keep it inside and be sad alot. Don't push her to get over him...just let it happen naturally if it ever does. She has gone through a tremendous jolt..
alot of tea and sympathy would be nice. She is lucky to have you as a girlfriend.

These things take time. The only thing that's going to help her is time. Your friend needs you at this point. Be there for her. Take her out and be that shoulder to lean on when she's in tears. Tell her things will get better. ( They will) God Bless.

Take her out to "social events" like parties and dances. The best way to get over a guy is to meet a new one you like better!

Ask her this question? Why would she want someone who does not want her? Tell her he is doing her a favor, and that she deserves better, that God has something even better in store for her. Tell her to work on her self esteem, and and she will make it. And to have a great holiday!

Tell her a cute guy in your school said he likes her or said she was cute. At least it will get her mind off the ex and help her realize there are other fish in the sea.

Tell her it is not the end of the world and there will be other guys in the future, also to be careful with the guys she chooses to like.

Talk to her. Hang out. Out go. Have fun. Do things to keep her mind off things.

Crowded places with new people to meet. Get her mind off him.
