infants don't really need water, breastmilk and/or formula is fine. my son is 6 mo. old and i've never given him water. And I probably won't, on a regular basis, until he's a year old.

the only factor a newborn could acquire for a minimum of the 1st six months is breastmilk. while your newborn is sufficiently old for solids, small sips of water are ok. As a newborn, even though if, water could under no circumstances be provided because of the fact many cases it would take the situation of a feeding. additionally, too plenty water can teach toxifying. Wait till your infant has solids, or perhaps then do not furnish too plenty till a minimum of 8 to ten months.

usually a baby doesnt need to drink water for any reason for the first 8 months to a year, depending on when the bulk of their diet becomes solids. All the fluid they need they get from formula, milk, and food.

Newborns especially should never have water, unless a doctor has directed you to give it to them. Their digestive systems can barely meet the need their bodies have for nutrients, and anytime to give them water instead of formula or milk you're wasting a feed and depriving them of nutrients needed for their rapid growth.

The baby doesn't need water. Formual or breast milk has all the nutrients the baby needs. If you want to give him water, I was told by my pediatrician at 4 months and just a little bit.

Never give a newborn water.

They can be offered small amounts of water in a sippy cup starting around 6 months. (A few sips to wash down solid foods when they start them around 6 mos.)

I gave my babies water after their first week of birth. I waited because they strangle on since it's so thin. Do it as you feel comfortable. I'm raising 4 kids from birth and I haven't went wrong yet.
