ebay is definitely the way to go. depending on the team/player/item you're searching for, you might be able to get it at a ridiculously-low price. you also typically have a wider variety of items to choose from with each team. i'd still price it out between ebay, amazon, yahoo auctions... auction sites, in general, will typically provide the "fair market value" of items -- especially sports memorabilia.
