100% POSITIVE

Of course not. The wealthiest country ever and what we classify as poverty is better than many societies. That is not to say, we should ignore poverty in our country, but to deny wealth in the hands of entrepreneurs can create opportunity for people with lower income to make more is ridiculous. The question should be does the "fair" redistribution of wealth create incentive to pursue opportunities. No. Doesn't sound fair to me.

Of course not. Only if you look at human life as a zero sum game can one person benefit only to the extent that others lose. If that were the case we'd still be living in caves if not totally extinct by now.

Poverty is also a very relative term. What passes for poverty in the western nations, and especially in the US, is living easily middle class to maybe even bottom upper class lives in other parts of the world. In historical terms, the highest kings of old didn't have flush toilets or air conditioning or automobiles and the average life expectancy was under 30.

wealth is an opposite of poverty, but does not create it.
If there was no poverty, how would you know if your wealthy?
If wealth were illegal, what motivation would you have to try harder and do your best if there was no reward?
I believe lack of opportunity or ambition, poor education, drugs, alcohol, and gambling are far more likely to create poverty...

If you took all the money away from everyone, and divided it equally among us, in one year i bet you would find that just about all the previously rich folk would be rich again and the previously poor would be poor again- because people tend to continue to live the way they have always lived, and most of the wealthy people I know work their butts off..And most of the poor people i know have some underlying addiction or problem that precludes them from succeeding.it is a matter of attitudes and abilities as well as opportunity

Yeah and no.

Yeah, because wealthy people dont give poor people an opportunity 2 make a decent living, due to lack of education.

No, because if people are born into poverty, and thats all they know and they dont want to educate themselves to see that it is a better way, then the cycle will continue

Nope. The societies with the least wealth have the most poverty, and vice versa. There are poor people everywhere, to be sure...and expectations of those living in wealthy areas are higher than in poor areas...but on the whole, a poor person living in (say) the US now has more available to them than an average person did 100 years ago.

Liberals manifest poverty with their continued support of welfare instead of eradicating it so citizens can become motivated and get off their lazy asses and find employment.
