I have been playing for a year and a half. I decided to stray from my Squier Bullet. My price limit is roughly 1500$. This is my second guitar. I play anything from classic rock to metal. I have a Cube amp. I'm 14 so I'll have it for a while.
Thanks

Metal huh, then you'll be wanting a bassie sound, yes, no? The fender is a good guitar. Maybe you want to think 'pick-ups' first. Go chunkier. Or hotter, Seymour Duncan on a strat make it fatter, but you've probably already done this. So, I think you look to a lightweight with hot p/u's.
You didn't 'watt up' your amp for me so I guess your happy with how much punch your getting there..
Have you got a effects loop workin' yet? 1,500 smokes will go a long way if you choose with the right head...
Good luck and Merry Christmas.

If you're 14 and have $1500(or do your parents have the $1500), I would stick with the Squier for now-don't sweat the name on the axe's peghead-spend the $1500 on a good guitar camp next summer...

A good american Fender Strat, I have a bullit, my dad has a strat, AMAZING DIFFERENCE! if you have the money go for it. Also, going to a guitar shop and trying out some guitars for yourself can be very helpful, you get to know what you like and what you can afford.
