.. for either a holiday or work??
Me.. I checked out the website dangerfinder/comebackalive website:http://www.comebackalive.com/df/dplaces.htm
and have seen that I've been to two of the "so-called" most dangerous countries in the world and I'm off to a further two in a couple of weeks time: Uganda and Rwanda...

I travelled to Pakistan a few years ago. I travelled through Karachi and based myself in Islamabad.

Although the country is a contrast of Poor and Wealthy, I generally felt safe. You just need to be aware of your surroundings.

The only time I changed my plans was a trip to Peshwar, near the Afghan border, It was the time of the Taliban and as we got closer to Peshwar everyone seemed to be carrying a gun. A quick U-turn was required I just didn't feel right there.

I travelled alone to do some climbing in the Hindu Kush, it seems a bit mad now, although i am glad I went. I now have a greater understanding of Islam and the Pakistani culture.

The strange thing was walking about in Islamabad, I felt safer than I did in New York. Crimes of mugging, assault, theft are lower than in the west due to Islamic Law. I know it is harsh but it seems to work.

Things may have changed due to recent world events but I would not stop going again.

Well, I've been to Cambodia, India (4 or 5 times), Israel, The Philippines, Russia, Sri Lanka and the US (many times), and I'm currently living in Colombia.

But I guess the most dangerous place would be the place where I got knocked unconscious, carried into an alley and my daypack stolen from me. Fortunately nothing else happened as it was almost day break! This place was BOLIVIA.

Mombassa, Kenya felt very frightening when we arrived at 7a.m. but I empathise with the person that said Egypt, outskirts of Cairo. We travelled from the port with armed guards on the coaches and the wonderful sight of the pyramids is not so wonderful when you feel threatened and you do feel threatened.

USA, Washington D.C, I was only there a week and someone was murdered in the neighbourhood I was staying.

I live in Trinidad, W.I and the drive from the airport to Port of Spain ln the evening is scary, mainly because of the driving, its like Mad Max.

The United States

Just kidding. I'm from Canada and only been to the US and Mexico, so I guess my answer is Mexico.

Interesting question though.
