You pay monthly. The first thing you do is buy the game itself (which is now down to $19.99 I think). The game comes with one month of gameplay included. The cheapest I've seen the game itself is on Amazon, where I think they had it for $17 or so.

After that, you pay a monthly fee for the game - if you're in the US, it's $15 every month. You can pay either by credit card on their website, or you can buy prepaid gamecards at game stores like GameStop, EBGames, etc.

Guild Wars you could in undemanding terms carry close out with super numbers of folk interior the cities, once you go away you truly enter an "occasion" of the land previous. This cuts down on the style of servers necessary and helps extra fee-effective hardware on the gaming businesses component. WoW facilitates people to roam in cities, the considerable lands, anyplace all interior an identical international. in undemanding terms the main distant dungeons are "instanced". This takes vast time server skill to run and to that end the month-to-month fee.

Yes, it does cost money to play WoW, you can either get came cards for it at the store, or use your Visa or Mastercard. But the best thing to do is purchase the came cards, and the game together. Cost should not matter to much when it comes to picking up the game at your local store.

The price I see it is now for the game itself is like $19.99 USD. Comes with a free month trial too. There is a fee per month thing, which is $14.99 per month.

If you're looking for a slightly better alternative, you can try Guild Wars, which is like $39.99 now(expansions are probably $49.99) and free to play. But Guild Wars isn't as good as WoW.
