Unfortunately, ounces and liters are not directly comparable. If you're talking about liquid water (or anything else with a similar density - like milk), then the answer is 33.8oz in 1Liter. However, a liter is volume and whereas 1oz of liquid water will occupy a certain amount of space (approximately 1/33.8L), 1oz of frozen water occupies more space (hence ice floats). But 1oz of mercury occupies less space (is more dense). Thus, 1L of mercury weighs a lot more than 33.8oz.
