If you wear size 33 pants, what size belt should you buy? 34 or 36???

I am buying a belt for my boyfriend for xmas. I don't know which size to buy him.

A belt is measured from the last hole nearest the end. I would buy a belt at least 3"-4:" longer.

If his waist has stayed the same for awhile, I would go for a 34. If it might fluctuate, go for a 36.
