Martin Luther originally wrote 99 Theses, but on his way to the church at Wittenberg he dropped one. So we only got 95 instead.

Just kidding. You probably mean the 95 Theses that Martin Luther posted on the church door at Wittenberg,

Yes, Martin Luther wrote the 95 Thesis. I wouldn't have a clue what 99 is all about.

Most sources state that Martin Luther nailed the 95 thesis on the door of the church. He also submitted them to the church authorities. To nail the thesis on the door of the church was a not without precedence. It was an acceptable way to a theological debate. Some sources claim that he never did nail them up. It was just a middle ages urban legend .
To further complicate the matters is that some sources mention Luther's 99 letters.

Martin Luther wrote the 95 Thesis denouncing the Catholic church for the "Power and Efficacy of Indulgences." He nailed it to the door of the Church of Wittenburg in 1517. He is credited with fathering the Protestant movement, "protesting" against the Catholic church.

No clue about a 99 thesis...

I believe a thesis statement is just a one sentence summary of a paragraph/article. So, for example, for thesis statement #2, something like "People start personal libraries for different reasons." might work. Take a look at what the three sentences have in common in each problem, and think about a sentence that would sum up all three together. Hope this helps! Good luck!

It's the 95 Theses (Against the Sale of Indulgences), and it was Martin Luther who wrote it, and supposedly nailed it to the dor of the castle of Wittenburg, Germany. ( There's little firsthand evidence to support that the 95 Theses ever hung on the castle door)

Your research is correct. Martin Luther wrote 95 theses, and posted these on the door of the Cathedral in Worms. Some folks have tried to imply that nailing them on the door was "a declaration of war" with the Church. In reality, that's where one posted notices, advertisements etc, in the community. The theses address specific issues that Martin Luther had with the Catholic Church as it was administered at that time. It IS one of the roots of the reformation, but that was never his intent; local aristocracy saw a chance to unload the oversight of Rome into their local affairs, and he gained support.
