i think the whole diamond thing is way overrated, i simply don't see the perceived value at all. i know women that would think it's an insult to become engaged without a rock on their paw....gimme a break....how superficial is THAT? if you have that much disposable income to blow, buy some furniture or go on a trip....either one is likely to last longer than most marriages do anyway....

If my boyfriend proposed to me without the ring then i would be ok because i know he would get me one later. It would be nice to have but it's not really that important to me. What matters to me most is that he wants to marry me. But my boyfriend doesn't want to do that. He wants to buy me a really nice ring and propose WITH it.

I'd want a ring. Not necessarily a diamond, but some sort of symbol of commitment. It could be $50, doesn't need to be $2000

We purely were given my mom a pearl ring for her thirtieth anniversary to my dad. it truly is were given pearl contained in the middle with small diamonds round it. it truly is totally enormously! Pearl represents a thirtieth wedding ceremony anniversary. i'm enormously classic so i wanted a diamond ring for my engagement ring. perhaps he receives me a pearl ring for our thirtieth. yet in case you would want a pearl ring, then let him comprehend and per chance it truly is what he receives you. An engagement ring does no longer must be diamonds. it ought to nicely be something you want. it truly is purely an emblem of your upcoming marriage, and must be something that you adore.

I've been engaged three times and only bought the ring ahead of time once. That one time was the only success. I really don't believe that a 3 billion year old dinosaur turd is the key to happiness, though.

i would accept a proposal without one. it is not the ring that matters it is that you get to spend the rest of your life with the person you love.

I personally would rather not have one. I think a simple ring when you're married is enough. Diamonds are showy and materialistic. Marriage is not my way of thinking anyway. Simplicity makes life easier.

I would accept the ring isn't everything. It is a nice perk but love is what it is all about.
