I have a PC and I can't view Japanese characters, i.e. kanji, hiragana, katakana. Is there any way I can install or download Japanese onto my computer?

Hi. Yes. Go to the Microsoft site and you'll find many language characters supported. Or try here : http://www.declan-software.com/japanese_ime/

If you have XP and have a Japanese font installed, you should be able to view Japanese on your computer.

I did a project last year that required Simplified Chinese. I did all the typesetting on my XP computer without installing anything except a Chinese font. The translator who read and spoke Chinese emailed me the text and I placed it into the document set the font and it worked.

It was however left to right top to bottom, in English reading convention.

Good luck.
