Has your doctor told you how thinned out your cervix is? If he said it was thin then you should be going into labor soon. You can be dilated to 2 cm for 2 weeks before you go into true labor, so find out what else is going on. You could just be having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are like "practice." They usually don't get stronger over time, and don't get closer together. You said you had contractions 4 minutes apart, but for how long? Was it an hour or a whole day? If so, it was probably BH.

Try walking...that should help with the dilation and might even ease the pain a little. Get your hubby to massage your lower back between walks and use a heat pack on your back as well.

It shouldn't be long till you're holding your new one in your arms! Congrats and good luck!

I would trying to walk around a lot. That sometimes helps.

Heating pads? Just try different positions and move around/ change positions often.
