Well, gee....Have you READ the book? If so, write down the name of WHO the book is about. That would be the Main Character.

What problem is this person having? Write that down. That would be the central conflict.

How is the problem resolved? write down how the problem is solved.

Setting? Where does the story take place? Is it the 1700's a castle in England? On a ship bound for Africa?

Must read the book first!

Sorry, not doing your homework for you!

Peace

"Heartbeat is the story of twelve-year-old Annie, who loves to run for the sheer pleasure of running. It's when she feels the most free in a year when everything seems to be shifting. Her mother is pregnant, her grandfather is aging, and her best friend, Max, is increasingly moody. Everything is changing, just like the apple that Annie has been assigned to draw one hundred times.

The story is told in free verse, exploring the friendship between Annie and Max, and Annie's changing relationships with her mother and grandfather. Annie is attempting to understand not only herself and her place in her family, but also to understand those around her. At the same time, she is attempting to understand larger, more complex questions: how we become who we are, and to what degree we should conform; how we are unique and yet how we are all alike"

EDIT: Wait! I did find some stuff.

Annie is a girl who is given an assignment to draw an apple 100 times, signifying how her environment is changing. Her best friend, Max, is becoming increasingly mean, and his relationship with Annie is changing gradually. As this happens, her apple changes. Her relationship with her grandpa and Max changes, as does her apple. She begins asking herself complicated questions, such as her position in her family, and how everyone is different and alike. She attempts to understand others around her. She matures and begins answering these questions.

Well, that's what I've gathered!
