Think about what your proudest moment was. Did you win a cooking contest? If so, begin by banging on a cookie sheet with a metal spoon and announce "Thank you! Now that I have your full attention, allow me to tell you about my proudest moment ever!" It will give your audience a laugh and help to relax your nerves! If it was when you did something else, think about how you can revamp this intro to gain their attention and also relax yourself. Have fun with it! Your teacher will be impressed!

something like "In everyone's life, their are specific moments that stick out in memory above all the others. One that particularly sticks above others in my mind is . . . and it is probaly the proudest moment of my life." or something like that, it just needs a quick introduction into the topic to get peoples attention.
