Washington politics are always traveling the one way road John, years ago Richard Nixon was impeached somehow and forced out of the white house, however this wasn't the case of Bill Clinton, he never did anything wrong, had an affair?, don't we all do?.. Regarding the actual president, I don't think so, impeachment of a president is a very rare case and congress don't want to deal with, doesn't matter party affiliation..☺

The short answer is no. The longer answer is that to be impeached there must be a verifiable commission (or omission depending on the context) of a crime to be impeached or censured. I would suggest for reading that in the last few years several senators and representatives have been censured publicly for their wrongdoings on Capital Hill, but for the perceived wrong doings of the President, only the most liberal of Democrats have even brought up the thought of Impeachment.

I can only think of two cases (Former Presidents Nixon and Clinton) that impeachment processes actually had a chance of going through. One was dropped, and the other was fulfilled with a presidential resignation.

Another thought to put to the group is this: What of the Impeachment process? What does it really do to the powers of the President, other than show displeasure of the people to him?
