can I use a solution of 10% caustic as a drain cleaner for a shower? or should I use a higher concetration?

You should use a snake. A shower is the easiest drain in the world to snake. Unscrew or snap off the cover and run one of those $15 spinner jobs down it about 3-5 feet and you'll be back in business.

Try to pull the drain cover off and use needle nose pliars and pull the hair out. I maintain a 364 unit apartment community and that's all I use an the tubs and showers. Takes less than 5 minutes.
