I think they mostly start out OK, but being exposed to so much greed and corruption eventually turns 70 to 80 percent of them. What do you think?

I really do not know the answer to your question. I believe that some of them start out to do good, but in time, either their Own Beliefs or Greed, gets in the way of their original motives.
We do know that when the Lawyers end up with the Lion's share of the money rewards from lawsuits, that the Victims are being screwed!

I'd say it's about the same percentage as the rest of the population; do you know what that ratio is? would be interesting to hear an answer to that question. I think a lot of lawyers become jaded and myopic, but I think they are by and large good people like the majority of humanity,

Most lawyers are either in in for the money and or political gain which gets them both money and prestige 98% of the lawyers I have dealt with in my lifetime are so crooked that when they die the grave digger will use a cork screw instead of a shovel to bury them

Well I caused President Bush to say, "Stupid Attornies". They are okay just afraid to tell the judge what they think the judge shouldn't hear such as official child abuse I had to know about in my complex case of political prisoner kids that must die of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.
So they are not unethical just scared of society and to tell the truth and do proper representation.

I think it might be higher that that. I have always been told that if I ever need a lawyer, I should hire the most crooked one I can find and then hire another one to watch over the first.

If you have money and hire private counsel you can end up with a good lawyer. However....If you don't have money and end up with a Public Defender or Court Apointed Counsel the chances are they are going to screw you in favor of the State.
