Yes, it is possible to have a child while having panic attacks - ask any dad who has been there while his wife gave birth!

Really though, the more stressed you become in the process, the less likely you are to succeed. Stress does not release positive hormones into the system and can interfere with the hormones your body will generate to help you get pregnant.

The best thing to do is settle down, - just relax - and remember why you are doing this.

I have panic attacks and anxiety as well. Since I have been pregnant I have only had one panic attack early in my pregnancy. I am now 34 weeks pregnant. I am sure everyone is different and I am sure there are people out there who are going to say you shouldn't have a baby, because that is what I have been told, but don't listen. If you feel that you can raise a baby even with panic attacks, then go for it!
Good luck and hope it helps.

I used to get them quite often- I was raped 5 yrs ago, and something related to that would set me into having a panic attack, sometimes anxiety attacks too. anywas, when I became preggo in 2005, I was at a grocery store, and the cashier said something-can't remember what it was, but I was fine, but then went to my car and all of a sudden had one really bad while I was driving home... I had to pull over for a minute. That's the only one I had- and the only one I had in 4 yrs, and haven't had one since... your hormones could set one off, but it depends on how you can control them.... try to do everything possible to keep yourself happy... and if you know the reason why you are having them, maybe that could help some.... I'd also talk to the doctor if you are having them very often... see if there is anything they can do for you to help you out.

Goodluck, what helped me was my husband - he was so good to me during my pregnancy, and I realized I needed to forgive the guy who raped me and move on and be strong for my baby- this REALLY helped me, and was very healing... Hope this helps some.

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

I thought it would get worse when I got pregnant. Ive had a couple little ones, mostly as the baby grew and pressed up against my diaphram and made it hard to breathe, it would trigger one.

But honestly, it hasnt effected my making of babies at all.

You just need to realize that although it feels like youre heart is going to stop beating, or sieze up, and you're going to die at any moment... its simply not true. Some people's bodies react to stress, sickness, fear, excitement, alcohol, and even gas in the digestive tract, by pumping out an insane ammount of adrinaline.

This causes the diaphram to sieze up, making it hard to breathe, and instead of processing the stimulant chemicals, they build up, and are compounded by tense muscles and emotions until your body shuts down, usually by passing out, falling asleep, relieving the pressure of gas in the digestive tract, or by medication.

I know it sounds crazy, but three generations of women in my family get panic attacks, and we've all learned how to stop them.

Avoid sugar, and caffiene, i promise you they will make it worse, combining the two together ESPECIALLY, and even drinking caffiene every day, its builds up in your system and can trigger them. Just avoid stress, and learn ways to deal with it. Find ways of letting things go, instead of choosing to stress over them. Its not worth it. Learn how to calm yourself down by shutting down, sit, lay, splash cool water, take a shower, faint if you have to. And honestly, I know is sounds insane, but go sit on the toilet when you're having one. Going to the bathroom really calms them down.

But as far as your question, no, having them doesnt make having a baby dangerous, although you can have blood pressure problems as a result while pregnant.

Good diet and exercise also help you avoid them. I honestly know what you're going through, and i honestly can say that you can stop having them pretty much completely.

I do sometimes. I have 3 boys and Im pregnant with my baby girl now. To tell you the truth I do get them worse when pregnant, but I also have high blood pressure when Im pregnant too and I was told that maybe why. Its still worth it though to have that little one:)
