I just set up an internet connection on my computer. My family members say that their computer is going slower because of my new found internet connection. Please prove them wrong.

I assume you and the rest of the family use the same connection. In that case they are right IF you are on at the same time.

In this case, you have a specific maximum bandwidth, and the more systems that are accessing through the connection the slower it will be.

Simple math 10/2 = 5; 10/5 = 2, to put it in the simplest form.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

The only way that your computer will slow down theirs, is if you share the same network for internet access and you are using it while they do - Bandwidth to your network is finite...

Of course, the darker side may be that you could introduce a virus/worm etc... :-(

Sometimes, PC become slow for your antivirus. And for your space also. Your other PC's proccessor speed and RAM is not so much from your PC.

well it could be from too many things downloaded also, like if you have unnecessary programs that you do not use.
