I have a computer, that was recently struck my lightning. This happened by the phone line. The lighnting struck my phone line, and my phone line was connect to the computer also. I got the computer back up and running, but I cant connect to internet. Is this my modem or what?

YES..it is possible that you modem pc card in your computer might be fried...the lightening causes strong energy through anyl lines that can over power a particular product depending what is connected. Or it could jsut be the cables that are fired, or your house cables through wall, but mroe likely it is your modem card in your computer that m,ight be fried.

YES.. for the simple answer, but could be more.. good idea to have it checked out by Comp USA or other computer parts store, they are usually pretty cheap.. but I would just replace the modem, and that should work..

yes this sounds like the modem, you'll need to buy a new modem :)

Yes... phone modems are pretty sensitive to surges... if it isn't making any dialing noises it's probably fried...
