I would suggest doing a wire transfer. Use your bank or credit union and have it sent to the bank that the person in England has. To wire though you will need the other person's ABA or Routing Number and their account number along with the name and address of their bank. The fee varies from bank to bank on international wire transfers. Usually though this is cheaper and safer than using Western Union. The funds are also credited to their account within the same day.

Sending a check or money order or cashier's check is risky. Mail takes a long time especially this time of year and unfortunately it can also fall into the wrong hands. You will have little or no recourse if this happens. Also when they receive the check their financial institution may hold the funds to allow the check to clear.

It might be a good idea to call the customer service area of your financial institution and ask them the best way to send it. Most will gladly help you in getting your funds there the best and quickest way possible (if they aren't willing to help then you should change banks)

I hope you get your money sent safely and securely!

Bank transfer or using a foreign money sending firm, like Western Union.

Otherwise, a A/C Payee cheque via recorded delivery post.

Or send me the cash and I'll get it to them for you.

It really does help to know in this instance what country you will be sending the money from. I wish all christians happy christmas, and a happy chunukah to all the jewish people, and to the rest of the world i wish a healthy new year and happy birthday, because we all have one of those.

You can send a postal order, but make sure it's crossed,or send it by special delivery, for next day delivery. It'll cost you about £4.00 to do so.
But only use this method if there's no other method left open to you.

Paypal, an Ebay company, should be able to do this for you.

Take it yourself. Also hire two or three armed bodyguards while doing so. Depending on the sum, receipt is virtually guaranteed. (If we're talking over £1 million sterling, receipt can never be wholly guaranteed, see e.g. the Brinks Mat job!).
