You mean like Kirby, or Vorwerk or Dyson, Oreck, Hoover, Eureka, etc.? Most all are 'good'. All are messy to clean up, no matter WHAT the ads say.
I once played 'duelling vacuums' with a buddy who had a Kirby demonstrator kit. I had a Vorwerk system. We chose a section of carpeting and started working. He pulled up some dirt, then I'd go over the same area and pick up more dirt. Then he'd pull up even more that MINE left. We did that for a half hour before stuff stopped coming up. Bottom line? Find a good dependable unit and keep it maintained. It'll serve for years if you treat it right.

tried a few and the Dyson, all though is expensive, it works extremely well and will now clog up like the others
