1. Use proportions.
56/11=18/x
56x=198
x=99/28 or approx. 3.5 inches.
2. 12/7=4/x
12x=28
x=7/3 or approx. 2.3 gallons of blue paint
3. 9/16=x/30
16x=270
x=135/8 or approx. 16.9 inches high.

using proportions
18:56=x:11
product of extremes=product of means
56x=18*11
x=18*11/56
=198/56
=3 30/56 foot
2.red:blue=12:7
so 12:7=4:x
12x=28
so x=28/12
=2 4/12
=2 1/3 gallons
3.height to width ratio=9:16
so 9:16=x:30
16x=9*30
x=9*30/16
=270/16
=16 14/16
=16 7/8 inch

the math goes like this for 1.
56 x 12 and 11 x 12 switches feet to inches
so 672 inches long and 132 wide
so if you create an equation like this:
132/672=x/18
132*18=2376 then divide 672
so 3.5 inches wide (thats rounded to the nearest .5)
Number 2 is simple, 7/12=x/4
so 28/12=2 1/3 gallons of red
or 2.33 gallons of red in decimals

These are questions using ratios.
1. Put length/width ----Let the unknown width be w
56/11= 18/w
Cross multiply 56x w = 11x18
to get w by itself, divide both sides by 56
56xw/56=11x18/56
w = figure out the answer yourself. Use your calcultor.
2... same kind of think put red/blue
let b be gals of blue paint
12/7= 4/b
cross multiply 12x b = 7 x 4
finish off the same as before. (you will have to divide both sides by 12, remember)
3 this is the same type. Try to do it yourself. You can always come back online if you get stuck.

1: 56/11=1.5/X or 56X=16.5 or X=16.5/56
0.295 feet or 3.54 inches.
2: 12/7=4/X or 28=12X or X=2.3 gallons
3: 9/16=X/30 or 16X=270 or X=16.875 inches

Obviously he still likes you..and he didn't really want to hang out with your brother, he wanted to see you..Maybe it was their plan so he could come over and see you. But you shouldnt have given him the cold shoulder when he came over because now he probably thinks you aren't interested in him anymore. So talk to him about it, tell him you didn't mean to act like that
