If you mean Yahoo messenger, click your status & click invisible

You can set it to sign you in as invisible automatically from the main login screen.

No one will see you on line unless you use a program that hooks you up to a network that shows you online.

if you're using AIM (the older version) click the eye above the buddy list

when the eye is open, you are visible, when its closed your invisible
