Had an email at work today that stated if you are at a bank ATM and just about to withdraw some money when someone tries to mug you, apparently if you put your pin in backwards, it said you will still get the money but the police will be called ( this is in the UK ) ....... this came from a seemingly reputable source but frankly I find it hard to believe. And what if your pin was reversible anyway? Anyone shed any light on this?

MichaelP, Inform your boss of the e.mail you received whilst at work, and let him/her investigate and sort it out.
Who knows what other 'seemingly reputable' e.mails they may send next, if they think you did nothing about this? I wish all christians a happoy christmas, I wish a happy chunukah to all the jewish people, and to the rest of the world i wiush a healthy new year and a happy birthday, because everyone has one of those

Its a wind-up my friend, there is something along the same lines in the security industry,if you input the panel code in a cross shape while de-alarming a building under duress.....it`ll automaticaly send signal to the alarm control centre,so alerting them to the fact....and so they call the police......i`ve since been told this incorrect.....and something just to reassure new personnel

No I'm pretty sure that this doesn't work and what if your pin number is 4444? I agree with the first answer, the bank would have told you about it if it was true.

doubt it, what if you just enter it wrong by mistake then a load of police show up.

and besides wouldnt the bank have told you this?

oh and do you really think the police would get there before the mugger had run off?

This one's been on here about 5 times, & the same answers keep coming up - it's not possible. The best thing you can do is quickly notify your bank, & hopefully they'll refund you.

I cant say I've heard of that one, but I cant see it working somehow, especially if some crook has put a Lebanese loop in the slot.
