When I had just started kindergarten (way too long ago) the Teddy Ruxpin talking bear came out and I wanted Santa to bring it to me desperatly for Christmas. My parents couldn't find it, so they got me a different talking bear instead. I was sad that t wasn't Teddy at frist, but it could do and say way more, and eventually, I loved it sooooo much. I took him to school and all the other kids loved it too. I felt so proud. I will never forget that bear, even though he was given away to a toy drive a long time ago.

About twelve years ago my mom and siblings pooled their money and got me a stereo system which included a CD player, two tape decks (one that recorded), and a radio. I believe that was my first CD player. I was able to make tape recordings with that stereo system.
Now notice that all my family pooled together and got me one gift from all of them. I don't see any need for anyone to receive plenty of big-ticket items for Christmas. The thought counts, and the money is better spent elsewhere, such as necessities or giving to the needy.

My Jenny Doll. She was a present from Santa when I was 2 years old. I had very curly hair and would twist my hair when I sucked my thumb. Consequently, I was going bald on the right side of my head. I think the doll was my mother's last ditch attempt to have a normalish looking kid. I twisted the doll's hair instead. Good thing too... I didn't stop sucking my thumb until I was almost ten! She's pretty ugly, but I still have her. I'm 34 now.
