Laura Gainey, daughter of Montreal Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey, was swept over-board by a rogue wave on Friday. The area she went into the water is estimated to be about 21C / 70F.

A horrible story for her and her family.

Do you think it is possible she wil be found? If so, what are the chances she is alive?

Well they have stopped searching for her, so it doesn't look to encouraging, they found all of the life saving equipment that was thrown out to the area they thought she may be in, her father has been given enough hardship in his life, what with loosing his wife at 39yrs old, my prayers are with him and his family.

A very tragic event in a family that has seen enough tragedy (Gainey's wife passed way in the 90's from brain caner in her mid thirties) With high swells and even though the temperature was 22 degrees, they thought she could survive up to 33 hours. If ever a family deserved a Christmas Miracle the Gainey's qualify.

I don't think the chances for her to be found are very good unfortunetly... I think that surviving in the water for 3 days would be very difficult even with a life jacket, which she didn't have.

But I would love to be proven wrong.
